God has also blessed me with 3 wonderful grandchildren, Margaret Grace (Maggie) Stacy, Everett Charles Stacy, and Porter Arlo Pickrell. Later, with God’s timing and blessing, God blessed Charles and I with a son, Andrew Thomas Stacy (Beth) and a daughter, Tiffany Dawn Stacy Pickrell (Justin). At this time teaching jobs were hard to get.Īfter 3 ½ years I met the love of my life, Charles Ray Stacy, and married October 18, 1980. In 1973, God blessed me with a teaching job at Fleming County. I was the only 1 of 4 siblings to attend college and graduated with a BA and Master’s degree. I attended Haldeman Elementary and graduated from Rowan County High. Later in third grade I moved to Rowan County. Two years later my family was blessed with a baby boy, Harold Lloyd Hamilton. I was welcomed home by my 3 siblings: my sister Mattie Lou Hamilton, my brother Chester Ray Hamilton (Monnie), and my brother John Dan Hamilton (Kathy). My grandfather said to name me Maxine after my aunt because we both cried a lot. On June 19, 1950, at Ringo Mills, Fleming County, Kentucky, my parents Arlie Lee Hamilton and Nina Ethel Hamilton were blessed with a baby girl. I never did like the standard obituary format. When you are told you have stage 4 ovarian cancer, you can write your own obituary. Maxine Hamilton Stacy, age 73, of Morehead Road, Flemingsburg, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.
